With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merle Anita Fender of Winnebago, Illinois, born in Shirland, Illinois, who passed away on September 19, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Dawson and Ruth Viola Moate (Teague); her husband Dale Fender; her daughter Becky Kelly; and her sisters, Dorothy Eudey and Ardath Adams.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Cassioppi (Sal Caiozzo) and Larry Fender (Donna); her grandchildren, Allison Hawkins (Tom), Paul Cassioppi, Kathy Fender (Aaron Fulrath), Eric Fender (Sarah), Tyler Kelly and Erin Kelly; her great grandchildren, McKenna, Caden, Cameron Hawkins, Kara Reinagle, Korbin Williams, Brennan, Carsen, Avery Fender, Paul Cassioppi and Athena Kelly; and her brother George Moate (Ruth). She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be established for Rockford Rescue Mission or St. Croix Hospice in Rockford.
