He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Isaac and Shirley Barker (Payne); his spouses, Beverly Jean Orth and Beverly Barker of Winnebago; his children, Greg Barker (Erin) of Rockford and Cindy Shea (Dan) of River Forest; his grandchildren, Matt Dixon (Jill), Eddie Shea, Aidan Shea, Ben Simonovich, Leslie Beisher (Kent) and Cailyn Medley (Douglas); his great grandchild Royce Hall; his siblings, Dorothy Genthie, Marge Moreland, Mary Yenney, Robert Barker, Larry Barker, Doug Barker, Shirley Rowe, Margaret Case and Nancy Barker; and his nephew David Barker. He was also cherished by several nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago.
