With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol Virginia Meyers of Winnebago, Illinois, born in Le Roy, Illinois, who passed away on February 8, 2022 at the age of 96. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carol Virginia Meyers to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Earl Thompson and Nellie Jane Gambrel (Halsey); her husband Stan Meyers; and her siblings, Dr. Paul Gambrel, Maurice Gambrel, Earl Gambrel Jr., Grace Snyder and Marjorie Miller.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott Meyers (Lana) of Rockford and Steve Meyers (Judy) of Cherry Valley; her grandchildren, Brittany Freiberg (Tim) and Tanner Meyers (Sonia); her great grandchildren, Nash Freiberg, Mason Meyers and Kensington "Kensie" Freiberg; her siblings, Dr. Loren "Gene" Gambrel (Anna Belle) and Barbara Seaman (Ted); and her sisters-in-law, Jackie Gambrel, Judy Gambrel and Leola Meyers. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be established for the First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago and the Rock Valley College Foundation.
