He was predeceased by: his parents, William Steagall and Martha Steagall; his wife Arlette; and his great grandchild Kayden. He is survived by: his children, Mark Steagall (Michele) of Maple Park, IL, Keith Steagall (Milen) of Las Vegas, NV and Cynthia Paulsen (John) of Winfield, IL; and his grandchildren, Andrea Thompson (late Dan), Scott Paulsen (Tanya), Lauren Kroscher (Tim), Jessica Lawrence (Josh), Lindsay Paulsen, Corinne Pech (Andy) and Lana Bratko (Wojciech "Albert"). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
