He was predeceased by: his parents, James William "Bill" and Vada Grace Kirkwood (Bragg); and his brother Billy D. Kirkwood. He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie Sperling; his son Kris Kirkwood (Jennifer); his granddaughter Cecilia Vada Marie Kirkwood; and his sister-in-law Dr. Barbara Sperling.
