He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Lee and Bessie Owens (Brown); and his wife Anna Marie Spencer. He is survived by: his sons, Richard Owens (Terrie) of Charleston, Kenneth Owens (Lara) of Windsor and David Owens (Julie) of Keller, TX; and his brother Gary Owens (Judy). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
