Browning of Wilmington, Illinois, born in Elizabethtown, Illinois, who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert A. Browning and Gladys Leola Browning (Hooven); his son-in-law Seth Whitmire; and his siblings, Sherman, Harvey, Tommy Joe, Noma, Mattie, Rosetta, Geneva and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Ellen Stelter; his daughters, Cheryl Finch (John) of Acworth, Janet Kaulen of Hiram, Teresa Boynton (Matthew) of Wilmington and Jo Ellen Whitmire of Covington, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jay Finch (Heather), Jessica Finch, Matthew Boynton II, Rose Boynton, Glenn Boynton, Alex Boynton, Ashley Whitmire and Chris Whitmire; his great grandchild Hendrix; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Smith of Kankakee, Sandy Browning of Manteno, Jean Stelter of Crown Point, Barbara Fitch of Richton Park, Robert Stelter of Crete, Donna Beckett of Castle Rock, Melvin Stelter (Kathy) of Dyer, Gary Stelter (Ginger), Cindy Jackson of Powder Springs and Judy Radtke (John) of Beecher. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bill's memory to Island City Baptist Church, 120 Vine Street, Wilmington, IL 60481.
