He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Stromquist and Frances Stromquist (Schuricht); and his grandson Jason Solick. He is survived by: his wife Pat Stromquist of Wilmington; his children, Theresa Solick of Bourbonnais, Cynthia Stromquist of Bourbonnais and Eric Stromquist (Holly) of St. John, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Danielle Solick of Bradley, Nicole Solick of Bourbonnais, Nathan of St. John, Indiana. and Owen Stromquist of St. John, Indiana..

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Wally's memory to St. Rose Catholic Church, the Wilmington Fire Department, or to Uplifted Care Hospice.
