It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Longest of Wilmington, Illinois, born in Milton, Florida, who passed away on September 17, 2020, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur "Laverne" and Virginia Longest (Osborne); and her nephew Jason Forsythe. She is survived by: her significant other Melinda Tankersly of Drummond, Tennessee; her daughter Katherine Rachelle Longest; her siblings, A. Laverne Longest, Jr., Gloria Longest, Rachael Cletcher (Jim), Richard Longest (Beth Reiter) and Alan Longest; her stepmother Carolyn Longest; her nieces and nephews, Christine Forsythe (Clark Allen), Beth Homrighaus (Zac), Casey Westover (Lisa), Cori Forsythe, Jerrick Longest (Ivana), Daniel Longest (Heidi Hess), Shane Longest (Tara), Tonya Best (Tom) and Jordan Horne (Tammy); and her cousins, Melody Longest Conrad (Russell) and Dolores Kaitschuck (Stainbrook). She is also survived by three great-grand nieces and nephews.
