He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph David Pate, Sr. and Betty Jean Charnas; and his parents-in-law, Eugene Craven and Patricia Craven. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Craven; his daughters, Caitlin Rieve (Matthew) of Peotone, Stephanie Pate of Frankfort, Nicole Pate of Wilmington and Jessica Pate of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Leo, Freya, Ryder, Teagan, Liam, Greyson, Grace, Charlotte and Archer; and his stepsisters, Carol Jean Jackson (Ron) of Oak Lawn and Julie Veres (Fred) of Oak Lawn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
