He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Cavanaugh and Mary Cavanaugh; his sister Kathleen Gatlin; and his niece Marne Cavanaugh-Wyatt. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Cavanaugh; his children, Kimberly Cavanaugh of San Antonio, TX, Kari Cavanaugh of Braidwood, J. Kelly Cavanaugh of Custer Park and Chris Cavanaugh (Tonya) of Braidwood; his grandchildren, Angela Julian (Brian), Amy Howard (Wayne), Kristin Doherty (Ryan), Melissa Gillis, Luke Borth, Jake Borth, Ryan Cavanaugh (Aliyah Reyes) and Bret John Cavanaugh; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Kylie, Logan, Jayla, Aiden and Jackson; his siblings, Mary Schott (late Jack) of Kankakee, Francis Cavanaugh (Joanne) of Braidwood, Bill Cavanaugh (Kax) of Kankakee and Ray Cavanaugh (Kay) of Oro Valley, AZ; his brother-in-law Don Cunning (Jody) of Sebring, FL; his cousin Dick Lehman of Lander, WY; and his close friends, Jim and Carol Shenk of Wilmington.
