It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carolyn Bright Kurth of Wilmington, Illinois, born in Paris, Illinois, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Vestal and Margaret Ann Vestal (Hensen); her former husband Richard Bright; her son Derek Bright; her daughter-in-law Pam Bright; her sister Patty Blye; her stepson Eric Kurth; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Dawson (Robert), Betty Mansfield (Joe) and William Bright.
She is survived by: her husband Tom Kurth; her sons, Doug Bright of Bourbonnais and David Bright (Katherine) of Emington, Illinois; her daughter-in-law Julie Bright-Allott of Gillespie; her stepdaughter Michelle Wandless (Dan) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Kelsey Wabi (Austin) of Tinley Park, Sydney Bright (Isaac Casas) of Momence, Mariah Bright Smith (Josh) of Marseilles, William Bright of Braceville, Emily Bright of Norway, Jaclyn Allott of Geneva, Jason Bright of Edwardsville, Jacob Allott of Quantico, Virginia, Jessica Allott of Wilmington, Ashley Weis of Nashville, Colin Weis of Wilmington, J. T. Mandac of Wilmington and Abby Mandac of Wilmington; her great grandchild Beatrice; her siblings, Steven Vestal (Julie), Mary Kubicek (Joe) and Linda Mullenix; and her siblings-in-law, Nathan Blye, Debbie Glass (Max) and Pat Farner (Bill). She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the VFW Malcolm J. Mayo Post 5422 (557 W Baltimore St, Wilmington, IL 60481).
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Carolyn's memory to the Riverside Healthcare Foundation and directed toward their Cancer Institute (https://riversidehealthcare.crm.salsalabs.org).
