Betty Jean Novy Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Novy of Wilmington, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 28, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Mullins and Mary Mullins (Cooper); her husband Harvey Kenneth Novy; and her sisters, Alice Mullins and Lila Lockwood (Keith).
She is survived by: her children, Julie Hoff (Bruce), Marjorie Theobald (William) of Shorewood and Bryan Novy (Teresa) of Braidwood, Illinois; her grandchildren, Dawn Miller (Noah), Jeff Fuller (Kate), Kaitlin Hoff Nielsen (Drew), Jason Hoff (Jessica), Scott Theobald, Christina Theobald, Michael Novy (Lex), Nicole Tran-Novy (Judy) and Marilyn Novy; and her great grandchildren, Alex, Nathan Bohlin, Annabelle, Jordan Miller, Arianna Fuller, Sadie Banks, Evelyn, Aubrey Nielsen and Dylan Hoff. She is also survived by many cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Baskerville Funeral Home (700 E Kahler Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery - Braidwood (34801 Essex Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481).
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Kuzma Care Cottage, or Our Caring Closet.
