She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Benjamin Belly (Laib) and Helena Nissenson (Anna); and her daughter Jo-Anne. She is survived by: her spouse Dr. Hyman J. Hirshfield; her daughters, Leslie, Laura and Deborah; and her grandson Justin Samuel Hirshfield Garrick.
In keeping with this integrity, Hirshfield requested that her body be donated to science.
