He was predeceased by: his wives, Evadine Downer and Phyllis Downer. He is survived by: his son Jory Downer (Patricia); his stepsons, Doug Vella (Nancy), David Vella and Greg Vella; his grandchildren, Guy H., II Downer (Blaine), Jordana VanBergen (Garrett), Deanne O'Such (Kevin), Kasey Vella, Ted Vella, Mark Vella and Angela Vella; his great grandchildren, Jory Bowe VanBergen, Olive Leta O'Such and Emma Vella Belmont; and his sister Eleanor "Zub" Marler (late Arthur Eugene).
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Donnellan Family Funeral Home (10045 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
