He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard W. Pontious and Imogene "Jean" Jones Pontious; his stepfather Al Gustafson; his brother William E. Pontious; and his nephew Richard W. Pontious.
He is survived by: his son William Abraham "Abe" Emery; his siblings, Diana J. Orberson (Victor) and Richard L. Pontious (Nancee Moster); and his close friend Paula Cox. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Memorial donations will go to the White Heath Community Center, White Heath Methodist Church, and White Heath Volunteer Fire Department to help the children of the White Heath community.
