He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Jefferson and Edna Ann Briggs (Orris); his siblings, Robert E. Briggs and Shirley A. Hyman; his daughter Cynthia L. Briggs; his daughter-in-law Delia Briggs (Gonzales); and his grandson Caleb L. Briggs.
He is survived by : his wife Edna Briggs; his children, David Ray Briggs (Lynnellen) of Patterson, IL, Dennis Briggs, Candy Pickert (Tom) of Henderson, NV, Phillip Briggs (Joy) of Manning, SC and Brenda Early (Jay) of Murrayville, IL.; his grandchildren, Nathan Briggs (Jillian) of Southern View, IL, Haley Dixon (Carl Shahan) of Colchester, IL, Jeremy Briggs (Sarah) of South Jacksonville, IL, Jacob Fundel (Dana) of South Jacksonville, IL, Marcy Dixon (Brian Miller) of Green Bay, WI, Ravin Figueroa (Israel) of Waukegan, IL, Athena Byrd (Michael) of Independence, KY, Brandon Early, Sara Briggs of Charleston, SC and Logan Early of Roodhouse, IL.; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Marlowe Fundel, Abriana, Analiese Figueroa, Charlotte, Harper Briggs and Jason Rains II (JJ).
