He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry "Deacon" and Frances Rebecca Daniel Hoots. He is survived by: his wife Betty Evans; and his sons, Danny Hoots (Barbara) of Coats, NC, Kenny Hoots (Debra) of White Hall, Steven Hoots of Lee's Summit, MO and Mike Hoots of White Hall. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, his sister.
