He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Burnett and Winifred Burnett; his sister Dolores Gruppe; his daughter Colleen; and his nephews, Billy and Michael Gruppe.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Laura Farrissey (Andy), Kevin Burnett (Janet), Mary Burnett, Kathy Sullivan (Bill), Patrick Burnett (Toni) and Kristin Burnett; his grandchildren, Lindsey, John Farrissey, Robert Burnett, Becca DeFrates (Jason), Katie Burnett, Billy, Meaghan, Michael Sullivan, Liam Burnett and Maggie Hallenborg; and his great grandchildren, Jesse Burnett and Hudson DeFrates.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Norbert Catholic Church (1809 Walters Ave, Northbrook, IL 60062).
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
