He was predeceased by: his wife Sylvia Adeline Jones (Richardson). He is survived by: his children, Sylvia Kathy Wallace, Carol Moon Frazier (John) and Richard F Jones (Laura); and his grandchildren, Jayson Wallace, Tressa Wallace, Austen Moon, Evan Moon (Taylor), Gray Jones (Sarah Minor), Catherine Jones and Rives Jones.
He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1950 and was later awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of his life's achievements and contributions to the University.
