He was predeceased by: his wife Regina Dolores Suberlak; and his siblings, Mickie Smith, Bernie Koziel, Annette Lashua and Joseph Koziel.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Koziel of Wheaton, Donald Koziel (Jessica) of Greentown and Dennis Koziel of Three Oaks, Michigan; his grandchildren, Peter Vander Aa IV (Samantha Rinehart), Nicholas Koziel (Alasha), Angelica Guida (Giovan), Jillian Koziel, Kelsey Harrington and Madison Koziel (Josh Money); his great grandchildren, Cameron, Maddalyn, Bristol, Isaac, Ryder, Portia, Petey, Stella, Isaiah, Samson and Rowan; and his siblings, John Koziel, Vickie Parrett and Patty Hemphill. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
