He was predeceased by: his wife Mary L Dimas (Garber); his parents, Fidel V Dimas and Josephine E Dimas; his siblings, Fidel E Dimas, Joe E Dimas, Rose D Garza, Josephine D Martinez, Eloisa Dimas and Grace Dimas; his daughter Linda M Collins (Dimas); and his grandson James R Collins Jr..

He is survived by: his brother Calixto "Kelly" Dimas (Masumi); and his children, Johnnie Dimas Jr. (Kimberly), James Dimas (Mary Beth), Jerald Dimas (Sandra), Laura Gilbert (Timothy), Joseph Dimas (Janice) and Jeffrey Dimas (Anna). He is also survived by grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with one on the way, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
