John Taejong Yu Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Taejong Yu (Wheaton, Illinois), who passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Taejong Yu to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Yong Jin Yu and Soon Sook Lee; his sister Esther Taein; and his brother-in-law Rev. Abraham Changwon Hahn. He is survived by: his wife Susan Yu; his children, Dr. Sandi Rueger (Tom), Dan Yu (Jackie), Dr. Paul Yu (Joanna) and Dr. Christine Yu (Gary Woods); his grandchildren, Rachel Miebach (Joe), Hannah, Matthew, Morgan, Erik, Maiya, Evan, Elena, Tristan and Elizabeth; his great grandchildren, Sophia and Felix; and his siblings, Tae and Dr. Taeim Hahn. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Due to the pandemic, the funeral service will be held privately, and private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The family looks forward to joining with all who knew and loved Dr. Yu in a future "Celebration of Life" memorial service that will be planned after the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Presbyterian Church in America Ministerial Relief Fund.
