It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Whitmer of Wheaton, Illinois, who passed away on August 2, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Whitmer and Carolyn Whitmer; and his sister Bonnie Bernardi (Bob). He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise West Whitmer of Wheaton, IL; his son Richard Whitmer (Lisa Hutchcraft); his grandchildren, Jordan, Blake and Jenna of Arkansas; his son Steve Whitmer (Shannon Stith); his grandchildren, Madison, Luke, Allison and Adam of Wheaton, IL; his son Jason Whitmer (Courtney Brez); his grandchildren, Jonathan and Cady of Milton, GA; his siblings, Jerry Whitmer (Jaye Forsberg) and Patty Whitmer Kreuser (Redgie); his uncle John; and his aunt Donna Whitmer (Wheaton). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID restrictions, this service is for extended family and by invitation only.

“I am saddened to learn if Jim's death. He was a few years older than I and when I began to explore my passion in photography, he was one of my early encouragers. I also enjoyed playing against him in a local church fast pitch softball league. He was a good sport and positive person. My condolences to his family. Gary Irving”
