He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Marie Owens Knaus; his children, Steve Knaus (Kim), Charlotte Monhart (Jim), Marilyn Gruber (John) and Diane Bojic (Steve); his grandchildren, Colleen Fitzgerald (Shane), Clare, Matthew Monhart, Maureen and Alyssa Knaus; and his brother John L. Knaus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
