He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Patterson and Ethel Bray Patterson; his brothers, Don, Dick and John; and his former wife Joan Welsh Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Patterson; his children, Michael Patterson (Bonnie) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Deborah Brady (Keith) of Wilmington, DE, John Patterson (Marcy) of Jacksonville, Tracy Patterson of Chicago, IL and Steven Patterson (Kimberly) of Winneconne, WI; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dombrowski (Kevin), Christopher Brady (Heather), Cody Gray (Sarah), Melissa Hoegh (Joshua), Jordan Patterson (Danielle), Kari Patterson and Kyra Patterson. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
