He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Edwards Coppenbarger (Nixon); his sister Sharon Sloan (Bix) of Worthington, IN; his children, Alan Wayne Coppenbarger (Lisa), Jamie Nixon-Jurumbo, Carrie Coppenbarger and Robert Coon; his grandchildren, Tamara Hardesty (Joshua), Clayton Nixon-Jurumbo, Kendall Coppenbarger and EmmaLee Coppenbarger-Gay; his great grandchild Wiley Hardesty; and his friends, John Henze of Two Harbors, MN and Dave Techtow of Danville, IL.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
