He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Dorothy Burkard; his children, Kathy Kanwischer (Kurt), Mary Johansen (Curt), Cindy Nolan (Jonathan), Nancy Godbold (late Donald), John Burkard and Loreen Houha (Leonard); his grandchildren, Kristin (Kevin), Kara (Michael), Kristofer (Ashley), Layne (Mark), Matthew, Philip (Heather), Bethany (Garrett), Nicholas, Leeann, Karlene (Laurentiu), Jonathan (Kimberly), Joshua, Leonard, Nathan (Alaina) and David; and his sibling Clemens Burkard.
