He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Ahlfield and Harriet Ahlfield (Knakmuhs) of West Salem; and his siblings, Henry Ahlfield, Charles Ahlfield, Jerome Ahlfield, Minnie Ahlfield, George Ahlfield, Dora Hale, Carl Ahlfield, Pete Ahlfield, Lara Spray, Lura Briggs, Enoch Ahlfield and Imogene Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Scott Crowell (Lyn) of Livingston, Beverly Ramsey of Bradenton, Stanley Ahlfield of Olney, Joni Millman (Don) of Effingham, Kevin Ahlfield (Kim) of Olney, Alice Ahlfield (Mary) of Pellston, Joey Long (Tony) of Clinton and Brian Maurer (Kisha) of McKinney, Texas; his grandchildren, Joshua Millman (Staci), Ellen Millman, Donnie Millman, Jessica Bare (Brandon), Courtney Hopf (Nathan), Ashley Wallace (Caleb), Megan Woolridge, Jacob Ahlfield, Mason Woolridge, Taylor Ahlfield, Charity Hermayer (Jared), Hayden Mauer and Elle Maurer; his brother James Ahlfield of Jasper, Indiana; and his siblings-in-law, Emma Lou Ahlfield of Hammond, Indiana and Burl Edwards of Cowden. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
