She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Stewart and Virginia Stewart (Plowman); her son George L. Schafer, Jr.; her grandson David P. Schafer; and her siblings, David, Terry Stewart, Penny Sherman and Linda Bockman.
She is survived by: her husband George L. Schafer, Sr. of West Peoria; her daughter Denise Helmantoler-Schafer of Mackinaw; her grandchildren, James Towle (Amber) of Mackinaw, Breanna Helmantoler of East Peoria, George L. Schafer (Molly), Peoria Heights and Sarah Schafer of Naples, FL; her great grandchildren, Aaliyah Rodriguez of Naples, FL, Ava, Francis Tagham of Chillicothe and Hazel Schafer of Peoria Heights; and her siblings, Richard Shaw (Lois) of Lakeland, FL, Ricky Stewart (Michelle) of Morris, Peggy Hanson of O'Dell and Judy Frazier of Magnolia.
