She was predeceased by: her parents, LaHood Peters and Ida Peters; her husband Robert J. Powers (Joseph O. Malone); her son-in-law Richard Ewing; and her siblings, Sadie Abraham (John), Lucille Taylor (Bert), Esther Lang (Edward), Anthony Peters (Inez), Albert Peters (Violet) and Richard Peters (Marcile).
She is survived by: her daughter Jo Ann Ewing (Powers) of Indianapolis; her grandchildren, Jo Lynn Garing (John) of Indianapolis, Jill Ewing of Indianapolis, Robert Ewing (Kristy) of Frankfort, IL and Ryan Ewing (Brent Rueff) of Astoria, OR; and her great grandchildren, Justin Garing, Jenna Garing, Sophie Ewing, Nicholas Ewing and Clayton Ewing. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials in Josephine's memory may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church - Society of St. Vincent De Paul or the Alzheimer's Association.
