He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Sarah Elizabeth Duffin McPhail; his wife Katherine Jane Evans; his children, Kathy Wiegand (Eric), Patrick McPhail (Sarah), Carmen McPhail and Christopher McPhail (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Alexis Verschueren (Brent), Jacob Wiegand, Sydney Jackanicz (Trey), Jessica Wiegand, Taylor McPhail, Ryley McPhail, Sawyer Hughey, Savanna Ireland and Paizley Ray; his great grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Ella Jane, Rhett Jase, Myles Charley, Lane Jaxson and Lukas John; his brother Jim McPhail (Mickey); his siblings-in-law, Sandra Evans and Rick Stilley; his sisters, Mary Croci (Joe) and Margaret Miller (Larry); his parents-in-law, Jack and Lucy May Evans; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ellen Evans, Ruthie Stilley and Thomas Evans; and his great-nephew Michael Lawson. He was also cherished by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. John's Catholic School Fund in West Frankfort which Dick helped establish and build.
