He was predeceased by: his grandsons, Jamie and Jeremy; and his brother Phillip. He is survived by: his wife Wanda of West Frankfort; his children, Danny Rotramel (Robin) of West Frankfort and Linda Whitman of Alabama; his stepchildren, James Hall (Tina) of Scheller and Darlene Welling (Keith) of Newton; and his sisters, Vivian Bain of West Frankfort and Shirley Cox of Decatur. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
