He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. Doherty and Helen I. Doherty; his siblings, Walter and Ellen; and his brother-in-law Michael McKenna.
He is survived by: his significant other Joan C. Mauer; his daughters, Laura Roberts (Gary) and Patricia Lietza (Jerry); his grandchildren, Bryan Wills (Katherine), Amanda Lietza (Fiance' Thomas Brandt), Elizabeth Wills, Douglas Wills, Megan Lietza, Trevor Wills, Melinda Lietza and Anna Wills; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary Wills, Piper Omens and Lily Riley; and his sister-in-law Margaret Doherty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
