It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Henry R. Karolus D. D. S. of West Dundee, Illinois, born in Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Edward K. Karolus and Esther W. Karolus; his wife Donna Jean Wagner; his brother Richard "Dick" Karolus (Dolores); and his daughter-in-law Julie Karolus.

He is survived by: his children, Jeanine Sproule (Jeff), Barbara Starley (Mark), Bryan Karlous and Constance Mooney; his grandchildren, Jalynn Krueger (Ken), James Sproule (Erin), Colton Starley (McKenna), Michael Karolus, Mathew Karolus (Meagan), Tiffany Newton (Tyler), Bridget Mooney, Derek Mooney (Amelia) and Logan Mooney; his great grandchildren, Moira, Isaac, Owen Krueger, James, Elizabeth, Theodore Sproule, Benjamin Karolus, Hunter and Paige Newton; and his sister-in-law Lynne Roark. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as his church family, and many good and faithful friends.

Please omit flowers. Memorials in his name may be made to either Immanuel Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran School.

“I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Henry. He was always so good to everyone. We enjoyed very much each visit from them at our home in California and Idaho. I still remember taking him up a Mtn here in Idaho and he wouldn't even look to the right because he didn't like heights. When we got to the top he did enjoy the view but didn't venture too far from the truck. My heart and love goes out to all the family. I'll miss his jokes on Facebook. Barry”
