He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Peter and Julia; his father William Oatman (Bill); his wife Janet; his daughters, Loris Damerow (Arno) of Ann Arbor, MI, Ann Gardner (Dan) of Colorado Springs, CO and Rev. Julia Hollister (Jim) of Sheboygan, WI; his daughter-in-law Dottie Oatman of Boulder, CO; his grandchildren, Carl Damerow (Joanie), Marin Klumpner (Tom), Maddie Oatman (Nick), Rachel Gardner, Avery Oatman (Tim), Molly Gardner, Jon Hollister and Jessica Hollister; his son Peter Oatman; and his sister Rachel Johansen. He was also cherished by four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave's name to the First Congregational Church Building and Grounds Fund or Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley.
