It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elvira Torres of West Chicago, Illinois, born in East Chicago, Indiana, who passed away on October 21, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosendo Vasquez and Jesusita Vasquez; her brother Michael Vasquez; and her husband Raul. She is survived by: her children, Ruben Moreno of Hines, James Torres (Anita) of Yorkville, Pilar Torres of West Chicago, Marina Torres of West Chicago and Raul Torres of Elgin; her grandchildren, Dante Cabrera, Gloria Davis (Tom), Pilar Zavala (Efrain), Tony Cabrera (Raquel), Deanna McGill (Terry) and James Torres (Elys); and her sister Amalia Torres of Huntley. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends.
