Arokiaswamy Alexander Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2025, at the age of 90, Arokiaswamy Alexander of West Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. A. Swamy Pillai and Rathakannu Ammal; his wife Jamuna; his son Rajasekar; his parents-in-law, Soundararaj Pillai and Jegaraj Ammal; his siblings, Dr. Antoine Selvaraj, Philomena (A. Xavier) and Shantha Raja (B. T. Antony); and his son-in-law Christopher Turnis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Hemalatha Nirmalraj (Nirmal Raj) of Omaha, Anita Breen (Dennis) of West Chicago and Helene Turnis (late Christopher) of Waukee, Iowa; his grandchildren, Madan (Ankita Sarawagi), Maya, Manav Nirmalraj and Naveen Breen; and his sister-in-law Hilda Selvaraj. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St John Neumann Catholic Church (2900 E Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. The family will donate all memorial contributions to Velankanni Matha Church in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, India.
