He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Henry and Maurine Earlene Agnes Bruens (Longfellow); and his niece Tara Tyler. He is survived by: his former wife Rena Dale; his wife Teresa L. Huddleson; his sons, Stephen E. Bruens, Jr. (Samantha) of Wellington, IL and William "Billy" Bruens (Ashley) of Wellington, IL; his stepchildren, Chrissy Draper (Todd) of Oakwood, IL and Jason Todd (Stacey) of Danville, IL; his sisters, Deborah Tyler (Kevin) of Hoopeston, IL, Sandy Bray (John) of Hoopeston, IL and Janie Baker (Allan) of Hoopeston, IL; his siblings-in-law, Debra Huddleson of Oakwood, IL and Rob Huddleson (Carol) of Catlin, IL; his grandchildren, Rylee (Alyssa), Karlee, Emmalee, Leevi, Natalee (Luc), Bentley, Conlee and Dailee Bruens; and his close friend Dave Gaddis. He is also survived by six step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Steve to the American Cancer Society for research, American Diabetes Association, or the Wellington-Greer Fire Department.
