He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret Smith; his mother Jean Fenton; his son Andrew Smith (Elizabeth) of Salem; his siblings, Janet Johnson (Ed) of Spring Hill, TN and John Smith (Mickie) of Nolensville, TN; his grandchildren, Brayden, Caleb and Hannah Smith of Salem; his brothers-in-law, Mike Beehn (Judy) of Wayne City and David Beehn (Cherita) of Wayne City; and his father Grant Smith. He was also cherished by eight nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children's Home.
