He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Sims; his children, Jeana Rae Pitchford (Richard) of Waverly, IL. and James Russel Lowery; his grandchildren, Matthew Whalen (Nikki) of Jacksonville, IL, Anna and Elizabeth Whalen of Waverly, IL.; his great grandchildren, Elena Henry-Franklin and Danica Whalen; his sister Doris Morris (Rich) of Midlothian, IL.; and his siblings-in-law, Van and Betty Sims of Chatham, IL.
