She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Rettenmaier and Bernadine Rettenmaier (Bernholtz); and her siblings, Marvin, Jean Wolterman, Louis and Delwin.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Carpenter of Emmetsburg; her children, Mark (Cynthia) of Waukegan, IL, Michael (Cynthia) of Harvard, IL and Maribeth Kuhlman (Steven) of Campton Hills, IL; her grandson Colin Carpenter (Anna) of Minneapolis, MN; and her children, Abbey Sanfelippo (Tony) of Menomonee Falls, WI, Alec Kuhlman (Paulina) of Chicago, IL, Cale Carpenter of Milwaukee, WI and Amelia Kuhlman of Campton Hills, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
