It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen T. Balen of Waukegan, Illinois, who passed away on April 15, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Racas and Anna Racas (Rimkus); her husband John L. Balen; and her siblings, Anna, Justine, Bernice, Geraldine, Anthony and Richard.
She is survived by: her children, Rochelle Talley (Thomas) of Chapel Hill, N. C., Cheryl Kelly (David) of Geneva, IL. and John V. Balen (Norma) of Hillsborough, CA.; her grandchildren, John (Courtney), Lauren Kaminski (Greg), Allyson, Elena Kelly, John A. and Danielle Balen; her great grandchildren, Catherine, John "Jack", Eleanor Kelly and Carter Kaminski; and her sister Dorothy Brant of Stuart, FL..
