Chingo in Wauconda, Illinois, born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, who passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren and Vivian (Cox); her husband John Chingo Jr. (Jack); and her siblings, Harry Whelchel (Mindy), Peggy Garza (Julio) and Beverly Riley (Frank).

She is survived by: her children, Candice Kehoe (Adam), Randy Frost (Kim), Frank Frost (Wendy), Linda Glockler (Mike) and Nick Johnson (Margarett); her grandchildren, Carson, Logan, Gavin Kehoe, Alexandra, Samantha, Jessica, Amber, Brandon, Cecila Frost, Marta Pitrowski, Destiny, Faith Osbourne, Christian, Heather Glockler, Cash Hodges and Audrey Motes; and her siblings, Susie Hillard (Billy), Kenny Whelchel and Dennis Kee (Sue).

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home (235 N Main St, Wauconda, IL 60084). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 10th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Kisselburg Wauconda Funeral Home (235 N Main St, Wauconda, IL 60084). The inurnment will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (1520 Sanborn Ave, Ashland, WI 54806).

“Jim and I wish to extend our condolences to the family. I remember visits at Harry and Mindy's home before we moved to Virginia. At one point in time Janet sent me a few pictures of the home in Peoria and one of my Grandpa Lee. That really meant a lot to me. I bet she is giving our dad (Warren Whelchel) an ear full. If Dad had not died so young, I might have spent more time with my family members and had more stories to share. Rest in Peace, Sis. Gayla Whelchel Jaeger, James and girls.”
