He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Zimmerman and Marie Zimmerman (Pohl); his former wife Pauletta Habing; his siblings, Frank Zimmerman, Robert Zimmerman, Kathleen Jones and Mary Ann Palmisano; his daughter Denise Hahn; and his great grandchild Evelyn Lack.
He is survived by: his children, Patty Zimmerman, Phil Zimmerman (Karen), Rich Zimmerman (Andres), Bill Zimmerman (Janice) and Ron Zimmerman (Stephen); his brother Thomas "Butch" Zimmerman; his daughter-in-law Maureen Farmer; his children, Bernard Haarmann (Deb), Tom Haarmann (Janet), Brenda Margold (Steve), Gloria Brummer (David), Elaine Dust (Tom) and Sharon Wente (Pat); and his son-in-law Larry Hahn (Dolores). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
