He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Pontious and Ethel Pontious (Higgins); and his sisters, Edith Robertson (Charles), Virginia Culver (Art), Aline Beitz (Fritz), Marie Wilson (Bob) and Rita McCain (Bob).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Tegeler of Watson; his children, Joseph (Theresa) of Effingham, Tina Mette of Altamont, Tracy Grunloh of Altamont and Justin (Erin) of Watson; his grandchildren, Nathan Pontious, Jacob Pontious, Dylan Pontious, Tyler Mette (Melissa), Trent Mette, Troy Mette (Cassie), Tinley Mette, Taylor Mette, Braden Grunloh, Brianna Grunloh, Colby Haynes and Miley Pontious; and his great grandchildren, Lylliana, Lucylle, Leyla and Tucker Mette.
