He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Eighner and Eunice Eighner (Day); his sister Donna Morts; and his brother-in-law Ronald Schmohe. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Leavitt; his children, Korene Scharp (Jason) of Gilman, IL, Carley Meyer (Brad) of Gilman, IL and Justin Eighner (Jill) of Maroa, IL; his grandchildren, Adelynn, Amelia Scharp, Kane, Klaire Eighner, Jude and Finn Meyer; his siblings, Carolyn Schmohe of Okeechobee, FL and David Eighner of Okeechobee, FL; and his brother-in-law Steven Morts of Milford, IL. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
