He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Valderine and Laura Angeline James (Brown); his children, Robert Larry James and Tayla RaeAnne Ropac; and his son-in-law Bobby McCrory.

He is survived by: his wife Lori L. James of Watseka; and his children, Donald Valderine James (Misty) of Missouri, Julie Kay McCrory of Rossville, Richard Leroy James of Caliente, CA, Lilliana Ivy Curtis (Jason), Jessica Lynn Blocher of Michigan City, IN, Amy Renee Ropac of Watseka and Tristan Eugene Ropac (Nici) of Rochester. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
