He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman C. Hern and Marian E. Hern; and his son James Brian Hern. He is survived by: his children, Robert E. Hern, Mark A. Hern (Kara), Michael D. Hern (Jean) and Jennifer Quebedbeax (Nick); his grandchildren, Samantha Hern, Steven Hern, Grace Hern, Demarco Quebedeaux, Ashton Quebedeaux, Emma Hern, Lydia Contreras (Alejandro), Lanae Hern, Luke Hern, Claire Hern, Gabi Hern, Jill Mueller and Christopher Mueller; his great grandchild Vanna Reed; and his sisters, Sandra Bicklein (John), Mary Limpert (Joseph), Joyce Scaccianoce (Dante), Jean Scheiber, Laura Dotson (Earl) and Betty Mueller. He is also survived by nieces; nephews;and cousins.
