With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth W Wenkel of Waterloo, Illinois, born in Columbia, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 22, 2025 at the age of 95. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Kenneth leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Kenneth may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his wife Delores Wenkel; his son Jim Wenkel; his father Elmer (Dora); and his brother Carl Wenkel. He is survived by: his daughter Janice Blandford (Gene) of Waterloo, IL; his sister-in-law Rosetta Wenkel of Columbia, IL; his niece Kim Zoellers (Floyd) of Millstadt, IL; his nephew Gary Wenkel (Sue) of Branson, MO; and his pet Susie.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Braun Family Funeral Home (265 Quarry Rd, Columbia, IL 62236). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helping Strays of Waterloo, IL.
